The Production Processes

Many people just are amazed on
how people can 'make' web sites. Especially people learning
how to use html, flash, php, css, etc. It is sometimes overwhelming
what some people can
create with their talents and knowledge. I have a very precise
process which I regularly follow
in the steps of making a web site. Here I will enlighten you by
sharing the process I use. Also
Note that I will differ on my process for other projects, but
this is just an example process.
||_ How I make my web
pages with standard HTML coding _||
- I begin all my pages with
a graphic software and I create my interface/layout.
- After that, I slice, compress,
and export all pieces of my layout, including splices.
- Next I open Dreamweaver
and implement all my images together into tables.
- Once everything has been
organized, I view my source and complete final edits.
- Once I have complete one
page, I make several copies of it, and then re-use it to make
other pages(i.e. 'about', 'links', etc.) with different content.
- After all pages have been
completed with content, layout, and I corrected all errors,
I move on the the next step, cascading style sheets(CSS).
- With all pages near completion,
I review the pages daily and correct any problems I have.
This process can take up to a week. But, once I have completed
all, I upload through file transfer proto call(FTP) onto my
server.
- (Only If no domain will
be used) When completion of the uploading has taken place,
I choose a dot-tk extension to use, so that viewers don't
have to deal with typing in a large URL in order to visit
my sites. This is very important, because URL's with be shorter
and easier to remember for visitors. Plus, dot tk domains
are free.
- Finally, I publicly release
my site, and get as many hits as I can.

Any time you
watch a movie, television show, or anything which has been filmed
and
professionally produced to work on either TV, a DVD Player,
projectors, etc. They all
go through the process of video editing. They use several cameras,
and are all 'cut' by
a digital editing program. People who do this job are know as
'video editors'. With out
current public technology we can edit these movies on home computers
is they have
the necessary software. Productions studios which have been
used for a long time are
weaker than what can be done on a computer editing system.
||_ How
I make videos through a computer editing system _||
I always begin
my projects by viewing all the clips and footage I am going
to be
using in order to get a small preview version of what I will
create in my head. I
feel that this is a very key part in how my videos turn out.
I can eventually begin
to organize and drop all the clips in the order I want onto
my time-line. Depending
on what type of movie it will be, I start browsing for music
to import into my final
project. I then will begin taking off small, unneeded segments
of the clips, reorder
them, and play around with there speed (100% = 30 fps; 50% =
15 fps). Making
the best possible timing out of my clips and their order can
be a very slow and
overwhelming process, and is the main reason that this is not
a simple job to do.
But, I like other video editors can handle it, and somehow manage
to create a
great satisfaction out of the challenge. Plus, we can make a
video art out of our
final products. Once we complete the editing process (also including
adding text,
credits, sound effects, etc.) We can export it as one giant
movie and save it onto
our hard drive for temporary storage. I then look through and
search for any bugs
I can fix and overwrite any mistakes until my video is essentially
flawless. This too
can take up to a few days if I want to have a professional video.
After I can finally
comfortably say I am finished, I move onto the DVD burning stage.
I generally just
use a very simple layout for my DVD's, but if someone really
wants an excellent
menu I am capable of adding customized layouts to them. Finally,
I watch the
whole video straight through with my client and I am completely
satisfied.
||_ What types
of software I can use _||
I am a PC (Windows)
user because I dislike the limited abilities on Macs. But,
I am still familliar and can use the prestigous 'Final Cut Pro',
but I prefer to use
Adobe Premiere for my editing software. I am familiar with nearly
all the major
video editing software, and can create a well done video with
any of them, I
choose my software in a matter of opinion, and I find Adobe
Premiere perfect
for my style of video production, plus, its a the most well
know video editor on
the Windows operating system. Here is a list of my top video
editors, and why
I prefer to use them over all;
- Adobe Premiere:
Many editing tools, very orgainized, and extremely powerful.
- Ulead Video Studio: Less powerful, but amazingly compatible
with most codecs.
- Final Cut Pro: Powerful, if it is strickly all set up. Not
good for random footage.
Plus, its on the Mac operating system, and Macs are terrible
with compatability.
