*Please note that this “About Me” page is different from the normal one on my main site because it is much more personal and detailed. That is my business site, and this is my personal blog and web space. I plan to develop this section more and more over time.

My name is Tim Silva, I am currently 19 years old and I live in Petaluma, California. This is my blog and personal website that I hope will develop into something I use regularly.

Hobbies.

Aside from anything computer related, I have a life in the real world. I have been skateboarding since I was in Elementary School. But lately, because of school and other interests I haven’t been able to be as active as I would like to be, but I still have sessions from time to time. More frequently however, I am trampolinist. I made that word up (trampoline-ist). I love bouncing on my trampolines, and I am an acrobat as well. Anything from ‘misty flips’ to ‘front-flip 720s’ I experiment with as much as I can.Another current hobby of mine is magic. I have been doing card magic, coin magic, and mentalism for about two years now, and it has been a lot of fun. I love being an entertainer and creating experiences for people. We are all human, and magic is one of the few things that bring us back to our primitive mind sets where we don’t need an explanation for what we are experiencing. That is why the people who are skeptical about magic never have fun when they watch it. Of course it’s a trick, just enjoy being fooled and life will be much easier to enjoy.

Lastly, I am really into talking to people. Not just small talk, but in depth discussions about life, movies, stories, fears, problems, etc. This directly ties into my interests in Psychology. We live in a very ‘not perfect’ world, and everyone has something important to say that unfortunately is not always said. I like hearing about peoples thoughts and being able to be a good listener. This includes subtle daily problems and sometimes very serious issues. I hope to work with adolescence about these types of issues because those are some of the most difficult (and interesting) years growing up in our society. But until then college and other interests must be taken care of first.

Music.

Music is very important in my life, without it I could not be very productive or happy. Now days I listen mostly to rock, metal, and some dark ambient. Here is a very specific list of genres and bands that I listen to (alphabetical order):

Movies.

I mainly watch comedies, thrillers, psychological/dramatic films, and some horror on occasion. My list of movies would be way too long for this page. If I tried to list my favorites, I would end up compiling a large list. (Even longer than my music lists)

I hope to one day write out a list of all the movies I love. I’ll need some serious free time though.

TV Shows.

The TV shows I watch are very similar to my movie preferences. Here is a list of my favorite TV shows:

Favorite TV shows: BBC Planet Earth, Beavis and Butthead, Boy Meets World, Family Guy, Freaks & Geeks, Friends, Jackass, Lost, Penn & Teller- Bullshit!, Prison Break, Reno 911, Seinfeld, South Park, The Colbert Report, The Daily Show, The Office, The Simpsons, and The Wonder Years.

Games.

I don’t play video games much anymore, but when I do I usually choose from my favorite selection of them:

Favorite Games (PC, NES, PS/PS2, etc): Half-Life, Half-Life 2, Quake II, FarCry, Painkiller, Super Mario Bros (1-3, NES versions), Sonic The Hedgehog series (Sega Genesis), Final Fantasy (very first NES version), Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater (all of them), Counter-Strike, Grand Theft Auto and FlatOut.

Heroes.

Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert, David Blaine, Brad Christian, Richard Dawkins, George Carlin, Jerry Seinfeld, Gus Van Sant, Adam Sandler, Jim Carrey, and Jonathan Davis.

Oh… and Chuck Norris.

Inspiration.

Before I start any project, I like to get a dose of inspiration by looking through the works of some of my favorite designers/interfacers/artists. There are many people who have given me tons of inspiration over the years, but the most important and influential are these three talented designers: Cade Embery (Australia), Jimmy Björkman (Sweden), and Jeff Nielson (Australia). The level of quality and style they put into their work never fails to impress me. They are are within a few years of my age, so I am glad to find inspiration from my own generation.

Others: DrawingArt [Miroslav Koljanin] | Dan O’Brien [DemonDan666] | Sascha Zemke [Ld-siGn] | Daniel Knaack [Gizcore] | Merz Manuel [xdreamer] | José Angel [Liandrolisk]

I have a larger list of friends and respected artists in my deviantArt jounrals. Other than that, there are just too many sites out there to list.

History.

The first web site I ever made was called ‘ww.krazytim.tk’ which no longer directs to that site. It was a free ‘.tk’ domain that had an ‘iframe’ tag going to where ever you were hosted. It was a web site about me, my friends, and anything else I felt like. I hosted files, videos, pictures, and a bunch of random content that didn’t have much to do with anything. Much like most people’s MySpace accounts today. It was also the home of my own video series known as “Dip Shitz.” Me and my friends made a skating/jackass videos for a few years and I created a semi-online presence for it. That web site name and alias were made by me when I was 16 or so as a joke. I was in school and we used to make fun of all the rediculous hackers names and I made up “krazytim” which I had no intention of using it for anything serious (I screwed up my deviantArt account). I have also used “krazytim1337″, “skaterguy52288″, and “skaterguy452288.” I have gone through many aliases online, but I will stick with krazytim for now.

I was hosted by several free hosting sites until I met a kid in some free hosting forums who gave me a great hook up. It was a banner/add free hosting site with plenty of space and bandwidth. Shortly after he gave me free hosting, I made some templates and logos for him and he bought me a free domain. I almost bought “krazytim.com” (I am very glad I didn’t make that mistake) but I decided to go with my name because I knew it would be more professional for whatever I used it for. After a while I had to leave that kids hosting because there was just too much down time and I was starting to work with clients, so I looked around and found Eleven2 which I still happily use till this day.

I eventually got in contact with the kid who bought my domain and he transferred it to my own account so I could finally pay for it on my own. Since then I have gone through eight versions of my website and I have plenty more to come. (Thanks for reading all of that. If you ever have a test on me some day when I am famous you’ll be sure to pass it with flying colors.)

Personal Beliefs.

I am both a proud liberal democrat and an atheist. I respect everyone’s beliefs and opinions, and I love that we live in a world where we have the freedom to choose what we believe in and express it openly and proudly. No matter what your beliefs are, I think it’s fair to say that hate is useless, and the ultimate goal in life should be achieving happiness; what ever that means to you. Life is complex. But it is simple too. If you don’t share the same beliefs as me, then let’s just simply agree to disagree.

Here is one of my favorite quotes taken from an episode of Penn & Teller- Bullshit! - “Everyone is looking for meaning in their lives, for a way of understanding the world as being more than just a random assemblage of matter and energy that just happened to bring us into existence. That’s a natural human need.” - Stephen Walton

^ Apparently most people find that quote depressing. It makes me happy. It makes sense to me. It is based on logic, science, honesty, and reality. I just skip being bothered by it and go out and do things that make me happy. I be around family and friends, watch movies, laugh at everything and nothing, sleep in on Sundays, bounce on my trampoline, … I live life. If there is an after life, thats great! I just don’t need to have faith in that theory in order to live my life happily and fully now. But, I completely understand and respect people who do believe that or anything else. Who am I or anyone to say anything is right or wrong. These very simple questions cannot be proved or disproved, so we can all make up our minds based on our life experiences and the ways our brains are wired. I am not worried about not ‘getting into heaven’ because I generally mean well and I don’t like causing problems with others. So thats what I think about life
